A zero bonus doesn't look significant: the player is roughly around even. And precisely because of that it's often underrated.
A point of fixation
In the data such a bonus can be a point of fixation. It didn't give a strong plus, but it closed the expectation of an event and changed the state of the current cycle. That makes it part of the structure, not a non-event.
What matters
Look not only at the payout but at the path to it: how many spins passed, the bet, the balance before the bonus and what happened after. Read it as a payout class in the cycle — where a negative one is background and a positive one is a peak, a zero often closes the segment.
